The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love VE Schwab’s work. This is only my second read by her. The first was Invisible Life Of Addie Larue. I did notice something interesting shared between the two books. Addie leads a life where she can’t leave a mark and that book focuses on the significance of that. When children go missing in Near Witch, leaving a mark is also of significance. Neat to see books written so far apart share a common thread.
The Near Witch is a 4 star read for me. I enjoyed the world she built, the tiny town of Near and the moor. It was very enchanting. If you’re a Neil Gaiman fan, give this book a try. It’s a fairly easy read and similar in tone to some of his works.
