Then She Was Gone by Lisa Jewell
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A very bizarre situation that you see coming from the start but as you continue to read you wonder about this piece and that bit and how this particular situation may have happened. That kept my attention, the constant inner monologue “oh but then how did xyz…”
I very much liked the epilogue which put a decent little bow on a bizarre package. I wouldn’t say a pretty package or a nice bow, but that’s the point of the story. Quite gruesome.
I also enjoyed Laurel’s character development. I felt for her.
4 star read. Looking forward to reading the stack of Lisa’s work on my TBR shelf :)
